Ashager Araro is a leading Israeli social advocate and public diplomat known for sharing her unique journey as a proud Black, Jewish, and Zionist woman. Born in Ethiopia, Ashager was airlifted to Israel as an infant during the historic Operation Solomon in 1991. She rose to the rank of Lieutenant in the prestigious Paratroopers Brigade during her mandatory IDF service, holding the rank of Captain (res) today. Following her military service, Ashager founded Battae, a center dedicated to preserving Ethiopian-Israeli heritage and fostering diversity within the global Jewish community. She uses her platform to engage audiences worldwide on the multifaceted nature of Israeli identity and the contributions of Ethiopian Jews.
