Barak Hermann is President and CEO of JCC Association of North America. Before joining JCC Association in 2025, he served for 13 years as CEO of the JCC of Greater Baltimore, the oldest JCC in North America, where he built upon more than three decades of leadership in the JCC Movement. Hermann was formerly Executive Director of the JCC of Central New Jersey, Chief Operating Officer of JCC MetroWest, and Program and Camp Director at the Suffolk Y JCC.
Throughout his career, Hermann has worked with boards and professional teams to develop and implement strategic plans that led to innovative operating models and successful programs. His leadership has transformed camping, arts and culture, Jewish family engagement and Jewish teen leadership, among other areas, and by building cross-sector partnerships, Hermann has improved facilities and finances, as well as strengthened communities beyond the Jewish sector.
In 2022, he was recognized as one of Maryland’s most admired CEOs by The Daily Record, a statewide news source. He is the board chair of the Owings Mills Corporate Roundtable and a past board member of Leadership Baltimore. He earned a master’s degree from Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work, a bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University and an associate degree from Johnson & Wales University. Hermann is a Schusterman Fellow and has completed executive non-profit programs through Harvard Business School and Columbia University. He and his wife, Cory—empty nesters—have three sons, Jacob, Zachary and Jonah.
