Jeff Horowitz

Jeff Horowitz is a Jewish camping professional and the Director of Camp Poyntelle, a Jewish overnight camp in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. He has spent more than 21 years in Jewish overnight camping, beginning as a camper at NJY Camps in Milford, PA, where he ultimately served as Co-Director of Camp Nah-Jee-Wah.
Jeff has traveled to Israel five times and has made strengthening the connection between Jewish summer camps and Israel a central part of his work. At Camp Poyntelle, he has focused on recruiting Israeli staff and campers, expanding Israeli representation within the camp community, and creating meaningful opportunities for campers to engage with Israeli culture and people.
Throughout his career, Jeff has worked across camp leadership, marketing, alumni engagement, community partnerships, and program development. He is passionate about the role Jewish camping plays in developing Jewish identity and creating lasting connections to Israel and the broader Jewish community.
Jeff was selected for the Merrin Fellowship through JCC Association of North America in 2023–24, recognizing emerging leadership within the Jewish camping field.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Binghamton University in New York and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
