OFJCC

Lara Walklet is the Teen Engagement Manager at the OFJCC.  A Berkeley native with a B.A. in Jewish Studies from McGill University in Montreal and an M.A. in Jewish Education from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, she has had the privilege of experiencing living in a variety of communities throughout the Jewish diaspora.

After making Aliyah and immersing herself in Israeli culture for 4 years, Lara returned to California to begin her career in Jewish education. With 15+ years of educational leadership, Lara has worn many hats as a teacher, the head of Hebrew and Jewish studies, a program coordinator, gap year consultant and Israel trip director. Most recently, Lara has invigorated the teen-focused program space at the JCC, including the creation of the PREP Fellowship, the OFJCC Teen Board, and the Z3 Teen Summit. She is in her third year of the RootOne national engagement team, doing outreach to connect teens to immersive peer trips in Israel. She lives at Stanford with her partner and their 4 children.
