Phil is a Founder and Managing Partner of Tritium Partners, a $1.5B private equity firm with three investment funds. Phil has been an entrepreneur and investor in Texas for over 25 years, after 15 years in advertising and consulting. He is a founder or first investor of several success stories, including Newgistics, HomeAway, RetailMeNot, Vida Capital, RVShare and Giact Systems. Previously, Phil was a Managing Partner at Austin Ventures and a Partner and Director in the Dallas office of BCG. 

Phil has also been a co-founder of three successful non-profits. He was a founder and Professor at the Acton School of Business and a Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Texas. Phil is a co-founder of MathHappens Foundation, a leader in mathematics education outside the classroom in partnership with museums, libraries, cultural centers and other informal learning spaces. Phil is a co-founder of CAPTRS (Center for Advanced Preparedness and Threat Response Simulations), a leading non-profit game designer and builder for Societal Disaster and Threat Preparedness.

Phil is very active in Jewish philanthropy and civil rights and is the founder of the Tzomet game focused on the future of American Jewry.
