HaOgen for Reservist Families

Rachel Azaria is the founder and CEO of HaOgen (“The Anchor”) for Reservist Families, established on October 7, 2023. Under her leadership, HaOgen has supported over 35,000 reservist families across Israel through a network of 20,000 volunteers and was recognized with the 2025 Presidential Award in Volunteerism.

A leading social entrepreneur and public leader, Azaria has spearheaded more than fifty successful social change initiatives across environmental policy, gender equality, early childhood and religion and state. She previously served as a City Councilwoman, Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem and later as a Member of Knesset (2015–2019), where she advanced landmark legislation on daycare subsidies, parental leave, kosher certification reform and representation of women in public spaces.

Azaria is the author of Guided Revolution, the first Hebrew book on effective social change in Israel and host of the podcast Parashat Drachim, offering weekly conversations on the Torah from a liberal perspective. She lives in Jerusalem with her husband and four children.
