Unapologetic: A Conversation with Lucy Aharish
Join us for an honest and inspiring dialogue featuring Lucy Aharish, Israel's first Arab news anchor, and Zack Bodner, President and CEO of the Oshman Family JCC (OFJCC). Lucy Aharish—Israeli journalist, prime-time news presenter and television host—is a pioneering voice in Israel’s media and public agenda.
As the first Arab anchor on Hebrew prime-time television, she has built a remarkable career across English, Arabic and Hebrew broadcasting, including senior roles at i24News and as head anchor of Reshet Broadcast Channel 13. She is also the co-founder and lead presenter of DemocratTV, a crowdfunded independent platform that became the largest crowdfunding media project in Israel and helped reshape the country’s digital public square. Lucy has been widely recognized for her courage in advancing pluralism and inter-communal openness, for fighting racism and for modeling a bold shared society—honors that include lighting a torch at the national Independence Day ceremony on Mount Herzl, the OMETZ (Courage) Award and the prestigious Quality of Government Champion Prize. In conversation with Zack Bodner, she will reflect on identity, media responsibility, resilience and hope, offering a perspective that is thoughtful, compassionate and truly unapologetic.
This event will be in English.
